The Getaways soon surrounded the Four Feathers, though the adventurers quickly took action and with a combination of magic and melee combat quickly took out the leader and one of his henchmen.

Cynic used his blade of vengeance to disguise himself as Geralt in an attempt to stop the remaining thugs, and for a moment they lowered their weapons. Delbellis used this as an opportunity to swiftly attack them, and together with Aragir and Loxen she quickly finished them off. Loxen almost went on to attack the disguised Cynic, though he was able to convince her that he was her ally when she used Zone of Truth on him.

The group found that the leader of these thugs, whom they gleaned from a note was referred to as ‘tracker Joe’, was using a specially devised compass to track Cynic by using his donated blood as a guide. Signed by an individual called ‘uncle’, the note stated that tracker Joe was tasked with finding and killing Cynic, presumably for his disloyalty to the Getaways.

Aside from the compass, the man held several other strange items, such as several bottles of unidentified brownish liquid that smelled of alcohol.

After things had settled down and town’s guards were cleaning up the mess that was left behind, master Kira emerged from the masses, bringing with her a young boy named Scotty. The boy was introduced by Delbellis as her older brother, and she told them that they used to train together. This visibly confounded the other party members. It seemed Aarakocra matured much faster than they had realised. The boy was clearly impressed by Delbellis’ performance during the battle, though Master Kira quickly shut down any ideas of him traveling out into the world, explaining that he was still far too young.

After a brief chat, the Four Feathers finally descended from the sculpture and contemplated going to Fayed’s place to spend some time and have dinner, though Aragir and Loxen expressed a desire to stock up on some things first for the upcoming adventure.

They visited a magic shop that sold several potions and magic items. While Aragir was busy trying to find a suitable crystal ball for Scrying, Cynic attempted to sell his Blade of Vengeance, as well as other valuable items he had collected along the day. This seemed to surprise the party members, who had been unaware of how many valuable items he had in his possession. They quickly discouraged the sorcerer from selling it, stating that they might still have practical use of them instead.

After Aragir had purchased a crystal ball, the shop owner offered several other rare, magical items. The first item he offered were Sending Stones, with which they could communicate with each other anywhere in the realm. The second item was a magical tape that could magically fix anything that it was wound around, regardless of its size, so long as there was enough tape. The third item was a toy merchant that could be wound up to be activated. Crafted by a traveling wizard and tinkerer from the South named Korbek, the miniature merchant could be used once a day to buy up to three items from. One would only have to name their desired item on the provided list and insert the needed amount of gold to receive the item.

After much deliberation, Aragir decided to buy the miniature merchant, hoping it would prove to be valuable during their travels in the North.

Much to Delbellis’ frustration, Aragir and Loxen then briefly visited a nearby armory in hopes that they would perhaps find any magical items or equipment that could protect them from the dangers in the North, though they could not find anything of value.

Exhausted from the battle, as well as the many other exertions of the day, the group then finally decided to make their way to Fayed’s home to spend the remainder of the evening.
