The party disembarks towards Brassdorf in the morning. On the way there they discuss where to take a rest to eat and sleep, perhaps in the nearby village: Greenmill.

Once arriving there, they stable their horses next to a tavern central in this village. Here, they rest up and book a room for the night. After some barter, it was done with the barkeep, despite him attempting to overcharge the party. Cerrule knew how to get that price way down!

Cynic decides to loko around a bit and watches a group of youthful people playing some cards. The dealer invites him to join and so Cynic joins in. The game being played is a poker variant. After betting some money, Delbellis notices something peculiar about the cards she could peek from one of the players. The face of the card appears to be blurred magically, ever changing of shapes! Cynic doesn't trust it but keeps on playing anyway. Delbellis takes the initiative to free her party member of this social pressure, she deliberately bumps into one of the players who then spills his drink over the table! This creates some trouble, having everyone quit the game. They don't like that one bit but they back off, take the money off the table and leave outside. Cynic didn't like that they took his share of the ma=oney and follows them out. Some others in the bar get up and follow outside, too. Seeing this, Cerrule and Delbellis decide to go outside as well to make sure Cynic is okay.

Outside, Cynic is arguiing with the card dealer from before as the situation escalates. Cerrule decides to charm the card dealer, but his friends are jumping in to defend!

Then, a booming voice breaks up the argument immediately. There, a large man known as Vinny proclaims the argument to be over, the party is free to leave with their money and horses. But they are left with the warning. Vinny and the gang are part of the Getaways, a large mafia-like group operating on the west coast of the Eastern Kingdoms. The party barely accepting this claim walk away regardless. Yet, Cynic sees a chance and decides to approach Vinny inside the tavern again. Vinny appears interested in what Cynic has to say regarding a potential job, telling Cynic to meet him in Brassdorf later. Vinny and his gang leave afterwards, leaving the party alone in the bar.

The party spends some time drinking and head to bed.

The next morning, they rush towards the big city; there's some stuff that needs to be done: a guild meeting at the Adventurer's Guild and a special meeting with the researcher Eldgran Wiscard. And of course the meeting between Cynic and Vinny, in addition to the mysterious meeting with a person in connection with the Wardens. Once arriving in the city, the party heads to the library, Book Garde to meet Eldgran.

Eldgran reveals that the book was translated for the most part! He begins to expand on the contents: it is a cultist book, the Talon. The Talon are zealots believers of an old god, Ozma. It is deliberately written in a dead language. The book speaks of a method to open a portal to summon this god from a realm known as the Shadowlands. In order to do this, 9 vestiges are required and several spherical metal objects - Aragir has given half of such object to Cassius, Eldgran was aware of this. The party reveals they are in possession of one such vestige; a large ring found in the ruins of Cypress Thicket. Aragir takes with him the book and the translation guide in order to conduct some reading later. Eldgran keeps the manifest of the book, a copy of the translated texts. He insists to take the vestige to a safe spot but leaves it to the group to take care of it. The party also leaves the Saffron Stone with him that contains the soul of Dukat. Eldgran informs the party that this is one of the Five Wise who, together with Weylin, caused the 100-Year War in the past. He's surprised the stone left the confines of the Scarlet Academy, it's worrisome. However, the knowledge of Weylin's return still sounds incredible and somewhat unbelievable to him. Eldgran thanks the party and they shall meet again at the Guild meeting the next day.

The party then leaves the library and plans for the next task.
