Description

Whispertale is a village in the east of the Kingdom, with a human-centric population of approximately 900 people. The village is remote from the larger cities, which tends to make trade more difficult. The Storming Expanse and Midway Marina waters provide food sources of fish and shellfish, and gave rise to animal trade and butcher shops around the village in the Madeleine Plains.

Politics and Culture

The village is governed by a mayor of noble roots. The Duskhearth family has been in possession of the village for generations, going back to the end of the 100-Year War, around the year 0. Despite the many successors within this family, it has managed to keep the village prosperous and yearly surveys continue to show ratings in their favour.

The quiet and empty surroundings of Whispertale mean it is a close-knit community. While it rarely sees visitors from other regions of the continent, it continues to be represented at gatherings in larger cities such as Brassdorf.

Population

The majority of the population in Whispertale is Human.

Resources and utilities

Golden Ale Tavern

A small cozy tavern run by the human brothers Wallace, Karl and Darion.

Abandoned Mine

Goods and Books

A small book shop run by Lorell, a human woman.

Sleepwhisper Inn

A little rest stop for travelers, run by an older dwarven woman by the name of Indra Flatbow.

Notable figures

Helga Duskhearth

Helga is a noblewoman from Whispertale, who recruited the adventurers through the Adventurer's Guild to find and return her son Leo Duskhearth. To prevent her emotional state from interfering with the investigation, and to protect her image, she had assigned Gareth Hedral and Bolgar Largebuckle to take care of the communication between her and the adventurers
