The village is lead by the Futhark family, who over generations have distanced themselves from the Basalt Dominion to remain independant and self sufficient. It is believed the fracture from the Dominion comes from the honering of an old tradition with Elves and as such the Fjallhammer ways are not compatible with the more modern and power hungry Dwarven of the west.

Residents of Fjallhammer have strong superstitious beliefs, yielding sacrificial lambs at times to appease to their gods for favors, luck or simply good crop.
