Cynic decided to look around a bit and watched a group of youthful people playing some cards. The dealer invited him to join and so Cynic sat down with them. The game being played was a variant of poker. After betting some money, Delbellis noticed something peculiar about the cards she could see from one of the players' hand. The face of the card appeared to be blurred magically, its shapes constantly changing! Though Cynic was wary, he kept on playing, prompting Delbellis to take the initiative and free her party member of this social pressure. She deliberately bumped into one of the players who then spilled his drink on the table! This created a fuss, after which everyone quit the game. Visibly displeased the other men took the money off the table and went outside.
Still wanting his share of the money, Cynic quickly followed them out. After noticing that he was then followed by several others in the bar, Cerrule and Delbellis decided to go outside as well to make sure Cynic was okay.

Outside, Cynic argued with the card dealer from before, and the situation slowly escalated. Cerrule decided to charm the card dealer, but his friends jumped in to defend!

Cynic decides to loko around a bit and watches a group of youthful people playing some cards. The dealer invites him to join and so Cynic joins in. The game being played is a poker variant. After betting some money, Delbellis notices something peculiar about the cards she could peek from one of the players. The face of the card appears to be blurred magically, ever changing of shapes! Cynic doesn't trust it but keeps on playing anyway. Delbellis takes the initiative to free her party member of this social pressure, she deliberately bumps into one of the players who then spills his drink over the table! This creates some trouble, having everyone quit the game. They don't like that one bit but they back off, take the money off the table and leave outside.
Then, a booming voice immediately put a halt to the argument. Behind them, a large man known as Vinny proclaimed that the argument was over. The party would be free to leave with their money and horses, but not without a warning. Vinny introduced himself and the gang as part of the Getaways, a large mafia-like group operating on the west coast of the Eastern Kingdoms. Delbellis and Cerrule half-heartedly accepted this claim, but walked away regardless. Cynic saw a chance, however, and decided to approach Vinny inside the tavern again. Vinny appeared to be interested in what Cynic had to say regarding a potential job, and told him to meet him in Brassdorf later. He and his gang left after that, and the party remained alone in the bar.
Cynic didn't like that they took his share of the ma=oney and follows them out. Some others in the bar get up and follow outside, too. Seeing this, Cerrule and Delbellis decide to go outside as well to make sure Cynic is okay.

Outside, Cynic is arguiing with the card dealer from before as the situation escalates. Cerrule decides to charm the card dealer, but his friends are jumping in to defend!
After spending some time drinking, they eventually went to bed.
<br /><br />
The next morning, they rushed on their way towards the big city; There were things thatn needed to be done, after all: A guild meeting at the Adventurer's Guild, a reunion with the researcher Eldgran Wiscard, and now there was also a meeting between Cynic and Vinny. And if Gamal was to be believed, there would also be a mysterious meeting with a person connected with the Wardens. Once they arrived in the city, the party headed towards the library, Book Garde, to meet Eldgran.
<br /><br />
Eldgran revealed that the book was translated for the most part! He excitedly began to expand on the contents; It was a cultist book of the Talon, zealots that believed in an old god, Ozma. It was deliberately written in a dead language. The book spoke of a method to open a portal to summon their god from a realm known as the Shadowlands. In order to do this, 9 vestiges were required along with several spherical metal objects. Edlgran was aware that Aragir had given a half of one such objects to Cassius. The party revealed that they were in possession of one of these vestiges; a large ring found in the ruins of Cypress Thicket. Aragir took the book and the translation guide with him so that he could read them later. Eldgran kept the manifest of the book, and a copy of the translated texts. He insisted that the group take the vestige to a safe spot, and trusted them to take care of it. The party also gave Eldgran the Saffron Stone, which contained the soul of Dukat. He informed them that Dukat was one of the Five Wise who, together with Weylin, caused the 100-Year War in the past. He was surprised that the stone managed to leave the confines of the Scarlet Academy, and it worried him. However, it was still hard to believe that Weylin had truly returned.  Eldgran thanked the party and told them they would meet each other again at the Guild the following day.

Then, a booming voice breaks up the argument immediately. There, a large man known as Vinny proclaims the argument to be over, the party is free to leave with their money and horses. But they are left with the warning. Vinny and the gang are part of the Getaways, a large mafia-like group operating on the west coast of the Eastern Kingdoms. The party barely accepting this claim walk away regardless. Yet, Cynic sees a chance and decides to approach Vinny inside the tavern again. Vinny appears interested in what Cynic has to say regarding a potential job, telling Cynic to meet him in Brassdorf later. Vinny and his gang leave afterwards, leaving the party alone in the bar.
The party then left the library and planned for their next task.

The Getaways

The party headed towards Brassdorf in the morning. On their way they discussed where to eat and sleep for the night, and eventually settled upon the nearby village: Greenmill. Once they arrived there, they stabled their horses next to a tavern at the center of this village. Here, they rested up and booked a room for the night. Despite the barkeep's attempt to overcharge the party, Cerrule bargained with him. She knew how to get that price way down!

After spending some time drinking, they eventually went to bed.

The party then left the library and planned for their next task.
