This Drake creature can primarily be found in Avalon, its habitat. It's been domesticated in the past few centuries and has been used for various roles, including for war (Warzhapin). In modern times, it is used for transportation in the absence of the horse whose common habitat is outside of the warmer climates of Avalon.
Appearance
The zhapin are family of the drake. Their outward appearance is that of a four-legged dragon and most of its entire body is covered in hard scales. The coloration of the zhapin comes in two dominant styles: the south-western zhapin has a darker brown or bronze look, while the eastern zhapin - where it originated from - looks to be more of the blue purple variant. Many zhapin sport a large horn on their foreheads though it is not uncommon to see them without, especially younger zhapin.
As they age, the zhapin grows considerable in size. Young zhapin up until a year after hatching stay well under half a meter in height and no more than a meter in length. But between ages 2 and 6, they rapidly grow and can be as large as 2 meter in height and 4 meter in length by the time they reach their maximum size.
