The party got together and discussed what their next steps would be. There were many things left to do in Abador and Brassdorf. Cassius suddenly remembered that he had never properly introduced the mage that had entered the scene earlier to the party, and took this opportunity to present her to them. Her name was Vaeri Aelar, archmage of the wizard's guild of Brassdorf. Though the sun was already rising, the group needed some rest and decided to postpone the interrogation with Gamal until later that morning. They returned to the inn that had been made available for them amidst the slow recovery of the city. In the presence of a warm fireplace and, for some, a good drink, the group sat together and took some time to learn a bit about each other and reflect on their adventure so far. Delbellis told them about the prophecy from her scroll, which had been kept by the monks at the Ilmater monastery for a long time. The scroll was written in an ancient, unintelliginle language. According to Delbellis, the monks no longer saw any purpose in this prophecy, but she vehemently disagreed. Especially now that part of the prophecy had come true, she thought it should be taken very seriously.

In the meanwhile, Cynic loosened up more and more, and asked if anyone had seen or heard of Aasimar before. There was an individual that he was eager to find; A person he claimed was close to him, for better or worse, and whom he wanted to see the fame and riches he aspired to obtain. Perhaps he had revealed a little more than he normally would...

They asked Aragir a thing or two as well, but their focus soon shifted towards all the questions that had risen after the things they had encountered in their journey so far. Cerrule told them about the voice she had heard when she touched the sapphire from Pietro's forehead; "I am Dukat, and I am deceased. I was trapped and I am only able to see the outside world through a small window. I was captured during the 100-Year War, but the battle is almost won. The portal remains open." Judging from the different languages involved with the stone, the book and the scroll, was it safe to assume that there were multiple (perhaps ancient) parties involved with this conspiracy? Did the old war from the prophecy of the monks have anything to do with the 100-year war Dukat mentioned? Aragir carefully inspected the sapphire, and was immediately suspicious of it. He told the others that for this locked soul to communicate with the outside world, he must have been a very powerful mage, and both he and the stone should not be taken lightly. At night, Delbellis dreamt of a war where she appeared to be in the body of a humanoid creature emitting a white-golden light. Her voice brought forth powerful waves, and her every move caused great destruction. She saw numerous portals, and in the far distance a rift in the sky appeared. It was the largest portal she had ever seen, and from it a purple mist descended upon the world.

The next morning Cassius was eager to go down into the dungeons to interrogate Gamal. Although Gamal was a stubborn convict and loathe to reveal anything, the party managed to extract a thing or two from him.

From him, they found the following information;

  • The dormant elements had risen.
  • The Wardens wanted to open up the promised land for those who were worthy; The dwarves and elves.
  • The Wardens now had all that they needed. Even though the falling tower was not a part of their plan and rather a consequence of current events, it did not matter as their goal had already been reached.
  • The alchemists sent each other parcels with alchemical ingredients.
  • Weylin would welcome the dwarves and elves in the White Mountains.

Gamal also reacted suspiciously to the sapphire when it was held near him. He laughed, and quickly tried to put the stone to his forehead. "That sapphire is ours," he exclaimed, "Weylin's!" Aragir and the party had a good feeling about this. They seemed to have obtained leads and leverage both. The idea that Dukat could be important to the Wardens meant that the sapphire had become integral to their plans.

After the interrogation, the group once again gave thought to their next steps forward. The majority seemed eager to depart for Brassdorf soon, to finally meet up with Eldgran Wiscard and advance their research into the scriptures and investigation of the White Mountains and Weylin. However, Cerrule seemed to have a different plan...
