Session 3
Arriving in Abador, the party first decides to look for the researcher that can help them with the book. They head for the library, The Grand Bookshelf, asking around in the Marketway for directions until they find it. As they approach, the party decides to split in two groups. One group heads out for the Citywatch to speak with captain Jade Aewynn while the other group goes shopping at the markets.
Captain Jade Aewynn and another captain, Mergom Mountbreak were discussing something as the group comes inside the chamber. They quickly hand over the parcel from Eri Boulderbane. The group is briefed on the circumstances of the object, informing them about the Fold - a task force that works directly for the Dominion. They were sent to Abador after the Dominion was tipped about a potential attack on the city some weeks ago. A week before the party arrived, some Northern regions near the city had increased activity from wild goblin tribes near the fields and Daggerborne Ruins. A small unit was sent to investigate, but they were too scared to proceed.
The Fold believes a criminal organization such as the Getaways could be involved, though they are unsure as this group is most active on the west coast of the Eastern Kingdoms. The captain commissions the party to check it out, promising to reward them upon their return, and gives the object inside the parcel back to the group. It seems to be some sort of key, though the glowing symbols remain a mystery. After the group is informed on where to find the Ruins, they head back out and regroup...
But before they leave, the party finally goes into the library to meet with Eldgran Wiscard and ask for his help in translating the book found back in Whispertale. As the old man looks over the ancient book, he recognizes the language as a dead one called Icosahedran. He tells them he will need more time with the book to translate it properly. The party hands him the book and they agree to meet up in Brassdorf later to pick it up again.
Having done that, the party heads back out and gets ready for a trip to te ruins. Time to see what's happening there.
