A legend originating from Avalon, particularly in the south-eastern region of the continent. It prophesied a handful of doorways to a parallel universe that may open in the very fabric of reality. This magical doorway is controlled by small axolotl-like beings trapped in a crystalline cube whom little is known of outside of written tales.
Origin
The legend is spread primarily through religious texts and word of mouth. In the past, there have been accounts of those who are tasked to protect the crystalline cubes, named Nexus. But in more recent times, there is no evidence of the existence of this cube. Furthermore, it is said the opening of magical doorways is made possible by the existence of the parallel universe which will be moving close enough to this universe such that its very fabrics will converge and intersect. In those intersections, it will be possible for one to essentially hop onto the other universe without adverse effects. Shimmering Veil documents describe the parallel universe as a, 'vile place that mirrors our existence'. However, members of the Luminarium describe it more as a, 'complicated relationship with subtle differences neither good nor bad.'
