An old sorcerer of a forgotten time, Weylin appears as an old elven male in dark red robes. On his head he has a peculiar crown that is known to exchange some form of energy into raw power for its wearer. Weylin's ultimate motive is unknown though he appears to control time and space in some limited way and is capable of floating, teleporting vast distances and appearing through apparitions for communication.

Disciples

Weylin is introduced through a disciple of which he has four in total, namely: Gustav, Jago, Peshka and Alenriel. It is believed Weylin has gathered the disciples from different points of time in the world though it is not clear from which areas they originate from. Nonetheless, his disciples seem to have various goals, whether it be to guide or defend some refugees. In some cases, namely for Peshka, it is to capture high profile targets.

History

Early life

Little is known from this period of Weylin's life, though through magical means it is revealed strange magical gems played a part early in his life.

Five Wise

Though details are sparse, it is confirmed that Weylin was part of the Five Wise who are responsible for the 100-Year War. Scarlet Academy's founder, Garr Hylthe, revealed that Weylin had escaped his imprisonment in a Saffron Stone by some miraculous method and was not seen again since. It is thought Weylin had perished, his reappearance hundreds of years later seemed surprising and to some (such as Scarlet Academy founders and Fold members alike) even unbelievable.

Promised Land

A member of the Wardens had revealed to Aragir, member of Four Feathers, that Weylin was responsible to gather willing refugees and provide them safe passage to an area known as the 'Promised Land'. Speaking to several refugees about the endeavour, the specifics seem vague to them but they remain hopeful. Weylin had captured the attention of a specific subset of the Dwarven people who, for whatever reason, feel wronged and seek a better life free of the oppressing government.

Alenriel had used the same words as what Weylin had promised to give back to him.

Myrneas

Seeking sources of power, Weylin had become aware of a dormant city deep beneath Brassdorf. Leading Dwarven refugees through underground hallways, it allowed Gustav to examine and open a pathway down to those ruins. Here, a large charged piece of Arcanum was uncovered to which Weylin was drawn. The Four Feathers would observe him drain the crystal of its powers before making an exit towards the White Mountains.

Personality & Abilities

Weylin has not been observed in combat yet though his demeanor suggests that of a powerful mage. He speaks slowly, delicately but the voice itself appears to be malformed. By refugees, guided by the Wardens towards Weylin, he is spoken of highly and - according to Gamal - a savior of the Dwarven kind. Weylin is thought to deliver the Promised Land.

Previously seen in...

Session 14 The Four Feathers first communicate with him through the Volentis's light eminating from Myrneas, deep below Brassdorf.
Session 17 Returning from the surface with Vaeri, Weylin is nearly caught while attempting to syphon energy left from a Volentis Crystal.

Trivia

  • During a mindreading spell from Aragir, it is revealed that Weylin's crown was given to him by mind flayer creatures. The creatures were similar to the wounded one from Whispertale and again in Abador.
