Jago

As the party is talked out of their eavesdropping through some bushes, Jago challenges them to fight to the death. He introduces himself formally, saying he travelled hundreds of years to this moment, following a vision and enact on it. And with that, a fierce battle begins. During the fight, Jago mentions how he's seen variations of this battle before in a vision albeit with a different composition of members; sometimes, he says, a wizard woman is present while other times a golden armour man instead. His brothers would never let the party get away in one piece, the party seems to have something they'd want. The fight would continue and the troubled Jago had given the party difficulty but, with Cerrule's final burst of druid fire magic, it all came to an end.

And then... Time's stopped for all except Delbellis and Cerrule. Doorways pop up, they hear the presence of Solis, thinking. The blazing blue fire of the soul is visible in each and everyone on that field - even Jago's, albeit weak. As Delbellis looks around and over herself, she notices the tether once more, but now a small bit had split away. Deciding to see where that leads, she follows it with her eyes until she meets Cerrule's gaze... Cerrule looks different, a clouded eye and an erratic inner flame of white and yellow, instead of the usual steady blue.

Cerrule notices the old Aarakocra man from her dreams of the future - her origins. He appears over Delbellis, protective and as always cloaked marked with a sun. As he mentions the divine gates opening, he asks Cerrule to put back Jago to where he belongs, to undo his trouble, turn back time. Cerrule is unable to resist the intense desire to comply and with a swift movement, she grabs onto a glowing wand in front of her and turns it counter clockwise - for a second it shoots into a staff of light. Solis, leaving the waking world of Delbellis, acknowledges the Child of Enoreth. Both Delbellis and Cerrule watch as Jago begins to disintegrate into feathers and dissipate, ultimately disappear...

For the others there, Jago simply snaps out of existence leaving nothing but his battle axe and a burst of purple substance that evaporates. A puff of purple smoke leaves the weapon as it reverts back to its common form and becoming a regular axe once again... While the party prevailed over Jago, it was not without its wounded. Cassius and Cynic had taken the brunt of it all, bleeding heavily from the ethereal axe slicing attacks, Aragir and Kaimos run to their aid and assist where they can.

The party decides to quickly leave this opening and back up slightly into the denser forest again, here Aragir casts a protective hut they could all rest underneath of as the evening begins to turn into night. Fearing Jago's brothers or other monsters may come back, they keep watch in two's and catch their breath. Delbellis brews some delicious coffee and they make some small talk.

Kaimos learns the group had seen one of the disciple brothers before, Gustav, but the travelling that both Jago and Gustav mention seems unclear to the party. Surely, time travel is implied but in which capacity remains unknown. Rain begins to fall over the forest hitting the transparent roof of the hut gently and, not long after, the sky begins rumbling of faraway thunder. It is revealed Cynic does not enjoy this type of weather, in contrast to Cerrule who believes it is soothing. For Cynic, though, it reminds him of the terrible time he'd spent forcefully on the pirate slave ship as they crossed the Silver Sea.

As is tradition with this party, shenanigans were afoot. She reads aloud a few passages from it and reveals how Aragir feels about Cerrule's interactions, demeanour and her story some weeks ago. As they were about to read Cynic's analysis, Cassius wakes up from the noises, still somewhat in pain. As he takes some coffee, he dissuades Cerrule from continuing such breach of privacy - despite being tempted by her playful curiosity provoking pokes. But they comply and, for now, the booklet was returned safely within Aragir's bags once again.
