After Aragir had posed as a sympathiser of the Wardens and spoke with Gamal, he had been given the following instructions; In ten days a sign would be seen in Brassdorf that would announce the opening of the gate, though he did not reveal how many days would remain to reach the promised land after. If Aragir could reach Brassdorf in seven days, Gamal would send someone who could connect him to others who had ties to Weylin. Not long after the party had departed from Abador, they encountered a destroyed and burning coach on the road. It was surrounded with blood, and two mangled bodies lay beside it. A third person seemed to be alive still. After the group had helped her, she told them that her name was Marcy, and that a hairy monster had attacked her and her family. She said it had taken her father into the woods alive. And so, the party decided to investigate and track the monster down. Along the way they saw a pack of wolves, though one of them seemed to have been mauled to death as well. To their luck, the party managed to avoid the wolves' attention and proceed. They eventually arrived at a densely overgrown building, seemingly from the same era as the ancient ruins they had visited earlier. Though it seemed to otherwise be a regular building that could have been used as an outpost or storeroom a very long time ago. Inside the building the sound of smacking and gnawing could be heard; This could be where the beast was hiding. Aragir sent his familiar to scout through a hole in the side of the building, but it was promptly struck down by a swipe of the monster's tail. Alerted by the hawk, the beast swiftly jumped outside, and revealed itself as a young chimera. Though the group initially attempted to flee as Aragir made a small wall of fire, this failed to stop the beast, and they were forced to battle. After they had, labouriously, defeated the chimera, they decided to investigate the building further. Delbellis and Cerrule quickly found Marcy's father, and Cerrule managed to stabilise him. Aragir noticed a crack in the back wall, behind which he could spot what looked like a pedestal with a book on top of it. When he got closer, he found that the pages were illegible as the text had weathered with time. The front of the book could be lifted, and appeared to function as a lid for a small storage space inside the pedestal. Within, Aragir found a peculiar oude ring, although it was much too large for the average known humanoid. It seemed to be made of an old metal, and both on its head and the front cover of the book a skull with a purple sun and rays behind it was depicted. The purple rays seemed to extend over the entire periphery of the ring. When inspecting the pedestal more closely, he spotted symbols on the front of the sculpture that were similar to those that were found in the ancient book. He tried to copy these 'inscriptions' into a notebook as accurately as possible. After investigating the buidling some more, the party emerged and prepared for the way back to their horses, using a floating disk as a stretcher for Marcy's father.
