Session 15
Myrneas
After everyone but Cerrule had witnessed Weylin's illusion, the party gathered to discuss all they had seen and heard.
They decided to return to Gustav, who then referred them to the merchant Yalmac who was standing a little further from them. Though soon after, Gustav's attention shifted towards something else, and he quickly left to check it out. Having sensed something himself, Cynic decided to follow him. After some hesitation, the party quickly joined him.
When they reached the top of the small stairs, they saw two other, seemingly Drow, assassins fighting with Geralt, and Gustav watching them from behind his protective shield as the ground was littered with dead bodies. Meanwhile, Cynic tried to convince Gustav that Gerald was an ally, and tried to persuade him to let the Tiefling in. Gustave however did not trust them. One of the assassins suddenly noticed the rest of the party, and dashed towards Aragir in an attempt to retrieve the Vestige. Though Gustav effortlessly struck the assassin down, he seemed to be visibly interested in why this assassin had targeted Aragir.
After this ordeal, the group returned to the Waiting Chambers and decided to speak to Yalmac, who eventually gave them the map that would lead them to Hunting's Pass. There, they would meet with Gustav's brother Jago. Yalmac told the party that this was where the refugees would be going as well, on their way to the promised land. After some questioning, he told them a little more about the ideals of the refugees, and why they wanted to go.
That night, Aragir and Cerrule shared their own views on a few things they had previously argued about, and Cerrule explained why she had certain biases about the Academy. She also revealed that she had dreams of a disastrous future, which she desperately tried to prevent.
After a good night's rest, the party decided to investigate the ancient city of Myrneas that lay beneath the catacombs. They discovered that it was filled with shadowy figures. It appeared that there were elves underneath this cloak of shadow, whom had been there since ancient times. Seemingly they were once targeted by a powerful, weaponised curse. A combination of healing spells briefly created an opening in the shadow, but it managed to recover soon after.
Some time later, the party decided to inspect the crystal that had collapsed into the water at a plaza of Myrneas, and found that it gave them a strangely familiar, pleasant and soothing sensation if they touched it with bare skin.
